Looking for instructions to construct a unique, yet practical rabbit hutch for indoor and/or outdoor use?
We have a young rabbit that is allowed to run around the house, supervised, of course. We’d like to build a hutch/cage for him as all of the store bought types are, in my opinion, ugly and too small for him when he is full grown. Anyone have any instructions, or blue prints? Or is someone creative and handy enough to help me design one? I will add more details about what I’m looking for as the replies start coming in. Thanks in advance.
Thanks Vektram. It’s not exactly what I was looking for (I’m not 100% sure what I am looking for). But, it gave me an idea for a great outdoor area for our Benji.
Just to give a little more detail to those thinking about posting; our Benji will be about 8-9 pounds when full grown. We would like a play pen area around the outdoor hutch. I am not, at all, interested in premade cages or hutches. I have looked into them for ideas, but I have no intention on buying one.
I built an A-Frame rabbit hutch with my Dad for our rabbits and it worked out well, the source I’ve listed has instructions and blueprints. It’s very labor intensive, though, and it took the two of us about a week to get it done. It was quite ugly when finished, unfortunately, but I suppose you could paint it. The one we built was very big and was spacious enough for our two fully grown rabbits – I’m not sure if the one I’ve linked to is the one we built, but it was the same basic design.
